Osteopathic Practice Standards
The Osteopathic Practice Standards set out the standards of conduct, ethics and competence required of osteopaths to ensure high-quality care for patients.
During your three-year CPD cycle, you must make sure you do CPD that can be linked to all four themes of the Osteopathic Practice Standards:
A. Communication and patient partnership
B. Knowledge, skills and performance
C. Safety and quality in practice
D. Professionalism
Your CPD should also support all areas of your individual professional practice; for example, in addition to practising, you might also teach, conduct research or have a management role.
The Osteopathic Practice Standards website provides quick and easy access to the Osteopathic Practice Standards and accompanying guidance. The Osteopathic Practice Standards are also available as a downloadable PDF.
You can also read a blog from Dr Stacey Clift explaining the importance of linking to the themes of the Osteopathic Practice Standards when planning and recording your CPD activities.
