This one-day course is designed to provide you with up-to-date evidence-based nutrition knowledge so that you can give information to your patients about the roles of macronutrients (carbohydrates, fat, and protein), micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), and the current UK dietary recommendations based on age and gender. The course will discuss tools to assess patient dietary intakes, estimations of patient energy requirements, anthropometric measurements for general body composition, and interpretation of common diet-related blood test results your patients may have. The course will also cover reliable resources you can signpost your clients to. The aim is to provide you with the knowledge and tools to promote health and prevent diet-related diseases in your patients as well as providing guidance about when and where to refer patients to nutrition professionals.
