Mr Bajekal completed his medical schooling in JIPMER, Pondicherry and his MS in Orthopaedics from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. He came to the UK in 1992 and worked in Norwich as a surgical trainee for the Royal Free/ RNOH Registrar/Senior Registrar rotation and completed his MCh from Liverpool as an external candidate. He obtained a Consultant post with Doncaster/Bassetlaw NHS trust in 1998 but left to pursue his current post at The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He is a Senior Examiner for the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) and lectures Internationally and Nationally. He has published widely and written chapters in various Orthopaedic books and recently qualified as a Lifestyle Medicine Physician with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine and the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine. This degree allows him to bring a holistic approach to orthopaedic treatment with a solid grounding in preventing, managing and reversing chronic and lifestyle-related disease.
