This one-day course is designed to provide you with up-to-date evidence-based nutrition knowledge so that you can advise your patients on obesity, its associated health implications, the science behind reducing body weight and current popular diets. The course will explain the physiology of obesity and why it is a risk factor for other health conditions, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The scientific mechanisms behind weight reduction will be discussed and current popular diets will be examined. The course will also cover reliable resources you can signpost your patients to. The aim is to provide you with the knowledge and tools to show your patients how reducing obesity will promote health and prevent obesity-related diseases as well as providing guidance about when and where to refer patients to nutrition professionals.
