Reflective practice is acknowledged as an effective approach to developing clinical practice and it has been shown to help practitioners increase awareness of their practice. A version of it will be incorporated into the new CPD framework that begins in 2018.
One key proposal is that communication and consent becomes compulsory CPD for all osteopaths, as this has been identified as a priority area and is central to the majority of patient complains received by the GOsC.
The Kent and East Sussex Group will be holding a CPD event in Boxley on Saturday 30 September.
Speakers will include Helena Bridge talking on headaches and migraines.
GOsC Chief Executive Tim Walker will also present on current developments of interest to osteopathic practice, including the implementation of the new CPD scheme.
